Filipino culture will take centre stage in downtown Mississauga when Philippine Festival Mississauga—popularly known as PhilFest Sauga—returns from September 11 to 13, 2026.
The free, three-day celebration will be held at Mississauga Celebration Square, bringing families and friends together for a lively weekend rooted in Filipino heritage and community spirit.
A celebration for the whole community
PhilFest Sauga is organized by the Kalayaan Filipino Cultural Organization in partnership with the Kalayaan Cultural Community Centre, Fiesta Filipina Dance Troupe, Culture Philippines of Ontario and Musika Children’s Chorus.
Through cultural performances, music, food and community activities, the festival creates a public space where Filipinos can celebrate their heritage while welcoming neighbours from every background.
For younger Filipino Canadians, festivals like PhilFest offer an opportunity to experience traditions beyond the family home. For newcomers and longtime residents alike, they also provide a place to reconnect, meet community organizations and support Filipino artists and entrepreneurs.
Filipino stories join the celebration
Filipino Literature Village is also scheduled to participate in PhilFest 2026. Activities announced by the Kalayaan Cultural Community Centre include author talks, readings, panel discussions, book signings and opportunities to meet Filipino writers.
The literature program is expected to take place through an event booth at Celebration Square and author sessions at the nearby Hazel McCallion Central Library.
It adds another meaningful dimension to the festival: Filipino identity expressed not only through food, music and dance, but also through the stories our community tells.

Celebration Square is located near Square One and the City Centre Transit Terminal. Paid underground parking is available at the Civic Centre and Central Library.
